EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION: CONNECTICUT

Gospels' Voice Marred

Letter to the Editor

The dismissal of the couple at Lauralton Hall is an outrage. This action exhibits the wide gap between the essence of Christianity and the narrow-minded hypocrisy of those in authority. Leave it to the Catholic Church to point fingers and pass judgment on an obviously committed couple.

One's sexuality is just a single aspect of our humanity, yet time and again becomes a focal point for discrimination.

What is also sad is that a truly teachable moment has been lost in this travesty.

The church of all places should be a refuge for those marginalized by society. By passing judgment and labeling those who are different, the message of the Gospels is marred and violated.
